Erebuni Museum Hall 2 - Display 10-11

Based on rich pottery traditions in the pre-Urartu period, Urartian pottery reached a sophisticated level of development and became the leading trade in Erebuni and Teishebaini. Widely used, pottery penetrated into all spheres of the economy and everyday life, including religion. Earthenware was distinguished by a variety of forms, sizes and pottery methods and can be differentiated between that made for the nobility and that for peasantry: well-polished, baked and glazed pottery was mainly meant for the elite.
